movie vs book

I saw the movie version of this book in theaters when it came out , I was happy with the movie but wish they had explained things more , I'm really happy that I read the book it explained all my questions and went into further detail and the characters were more defined . This is a very good ,well written book I can't wait to read the next books in this series.

The book was told in different point of views that I felt developed and strengthen the characters more deeply . I know most people always say that the book is better than the movie but this was really true . The movie made it seem as though the course of events happened in a about a week and a half and the book was more stretched out into what I would feel was more of a few months so it was more thorough .

For anyone who is into young adult/teen sci-fi thriller this covers all of those genres with out the boring fluff that some sci-fi books seem to have. I usually struggle through the author introducing loads of new sci-fi stuff and being like ''Yeah this stuff could be real and I applaud your imagination  ,but you are taking half the book to explain it and forgetting to develop the story line  .'' I am really happy that I gave the book and this movie a chance not that I thought I wasn't going to like it but I wasn't much into the whole alien world disaster thing .If you are ready to read something different that stands out from other books out there right now then this book is for you .
